The ‘Phantom body’ of the Krakow school

Размышляя над книгой молодого польского исследователя Яна Совы «Фантомное тело короля. Периферийные столкновения с современной формой», посвященной классической для польской историографии теме – причинам разделов Речи Посполитой в XVIII в., автор отмечает, с одной стороны, принадлежность ее «краковской» традиции», а с другой - новаторский «постдисциплинарный» характер с опорой на современные теоретико-методологические подходы.

The author reflects on the monograph Fantomowe ciało króla: Pereferyjne zmagania z nowoczesną formą (Kraków, 2011) by a young Polish historian Jan Sowa. The study is dedicated to the classical theme of Polish historiography – that of the causes of the partitions of Poland in the 18th c. It is shown that, on the one hand, the monograph belongs to the ‘Krakow tradition’, and on the other hand, it presents a new ‘post-disciplinarian’ view and uses new theoretical and methodological approaches.
