В статье анализируются описания тела как постоянно используемый авторами травелогов способ конструирования Другого, которое происходит путем описания внешности и телесных практик. Автор показывает широкое использование описания тела в колониалистском дискурсе, а также в пропаганде.

The article analyses the ways of describing bodies used by the authors of travelogues as a way to construe the ‘other’ which works not only through the description of appearance but also through descriptions of bodily practices. The author shows widespread use of body as a way to construe the ‘Other’ in colonialist discourse and in propaganda and concludes that construing ‘inner Other’ is based on the ‘exploitation’ of the same positions that actualized in connection with cultural ‘Other’.
