В статье предложена концепция «исторического вклада Дальнего Востока в развитие России», в основу которой положены достижения сибирских и дальневосточных ученых. Представлениям американских специалистов об этих территориях в русле «сибирского проклятия» автор противопоставляет потенциал концепций: имперской географии власти, научного и хозяйственного освоения региона, Центра – периферии, социально-политической безопасности. Некоторые результаты использования концепции показаны на примерах из периодов движения «встречь солнцу», имперского, советского и постсоветского.

The aim of the article is to expose the merits of the conception of “historical contribution” for elucidating history of eastern regions while appreciating contemporary theoretic –methodological complexes. The author contrasts the ideas of American specialists on these territories given in the context of “Siberian curse” with conception potential (imperial ge-ography of the power, scientific and economic development of the region, interaction Cen-ter-Periphery, social-political security) being worked out and approved in the works of the Far Eastern historians. Heuristic possibilities of the conception of “contribution” are demonstrated in the format of brief brightest illustrations on the period of moving “towards the Sun Rise”, imperial, Soviet and post-Soviet including destructive experience.
